Physical Education

Promoting movement and physical activity

At SPJE, we have a well-resourced Physical Education Program. Our students take part in lessons, that promote Movement & Physical activity, from individual non-competitive activities through to competitive team games.

Specialist PE teachers run forty-minute sessions for each class each week. The programs and skills, in accordance with the Victorian Curriculum, are sequential from Prep to Year Six, based on fundamental and complex motor skills. Lessons include fun warm-up games, skill demonstration, exploration and practice through games. Sports Clinics are often a part of the PE program.

Opportunities to Shine

In conjunction with an outstanding Physical Education program, SPJE offers additional opportunities for students to share their sporting talents. These include:

  • Interschool Athletics

  • Interschool Cross-Country

  • Interschool Sport (Grades 5 & 6)

  • Interschool Swimming

  • Elite Athletics

  • Annual Twilight Athletics

  • Running Club

Grade Six Adventure Camp

School Camp is an unrivalled experience for our Grade Six students. Phillip Island Adventure Resort has been home to SPJE Grade Six camp for over 15 years, providing opportunities for students to shine and develop friendships outside of the traditional classroom setting. From raft making and archery to the infamous giant swing and initiatives course, there really is something for everyone!

“I have lots of opportunities to explore my passion for sport at SPJE. I love to get outside and run around with my friends”
