“Prayer is when we send special messages to God”

Religious Education

At the heart of our teaching and learning is the Religious Education Program. This sets the tone for our curriculum and classroom interactions. We engage our students in contemporary learning opportunities to recontextualise Catholic teachings and scripture.

Living the Spirit

At SPJE, Religious Education attends to the spiritual development of each person, acknowledging and celebrating the Holy Spirit at work. With a strong focus on local and global Social Justice issues, we also aim to develop an appreciation and deep understanding of the richness of the Catholic Tradition.

Sacramental program

At SPJE, we provide education around all of the seven sacraments that are celebrated within the Catholic Church.

  • Our Year 3 students prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

  • Our Year 4 students prepare to receive the Sacrament of First Eucharist.

  • Our Year 6 students prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Children enrolled in our school who would like to be Baptised into the Catholic Faith Tradition, will work closely with the Religious Education Leader to prepare to receive this Sacrament.

Our school has a dynamic Faith Development Team that also provides opportunities for Adult Faith Education for Parents.
